My President's Day Weekend

This weekend, my friend Kenyatta, came up from DC to visit. We had a great time! We mostly chilled, brunched, watched movies and of course we went to The Gates Installation. On Tuesday, Monique drove up and we all went to the taping for the next season of the Def Poetry Jam. I was actually in the same room as Mos Def! I was soooo excited! We also saw Smokey Robinson, Wyclef Jean and of course Russell Simmons. It was a great way to top of my extended weekend :)

AIDS Walk New York

I signed up to do the AIDS Walk with Team Circle of Friends on May 15th. I haven't done something like this in a long time and I am excited about it. Shauna, a friend from Chicago, joined our team as well and will be flying in to participate. I set my personal goal for $250 so I'm gonna need everyone's support in this. Anyone can make contributions online at the following address:

You can also check my progress on how I'm doing in reaching my goal. So dig deep!!!

The Gates

I went to see The Gates Installation in Central Park today. It was pretty cool to see. It's amazing that people love art so much that they would spend so much money to share it with the world. Check out the official website of the artists:

YAHOOOOOOooooOOO!!!!!!!!

So I’ve become a Yahoo Groups junkie. I don’t know how it happened but I just have to accept the fact. Let’s see, I’ve joined women’s groups, small business owners groups, crochet groups, an NU alum group, and jewelry groups. (And WHY is my membership still pending after a week for one of the jewelry groups that only has 15 members anyway?) There is a group for EVERYTHING! What do ya need? Yahoo’s got it! They are a wonderful resource. I’ve gotten answers to a lot of questions that I’ve had and didn’t have to scour the internet to get them. I tell ya, there just aren't enough hours in the day.....
