HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!

Well, I'm 31 and feeling fine. The festivites started last Wednesday when Amie, Jennifer and Andrea (in town from Da 'Lou) took me out to eat at a cuban place called Cabana. Mojitos are my new favorite drink. Christian took me out for tapas over the weekend. MMMMMmmmmgood! Ya'll know I love to eat. And I've realized that I'm not getting older, I'm getting better. Watch me now!

It's Official

Well, my job search is officially back on again. My resume has been reposted to monster.com. This job is not what they told me it would be and most of the people here are really not friendly. Don't get me wrong, they are not rude to me-just not friendly. So my title is Global Sales Analyst, right? Well, it's pretty hard to analyze sales when they are not even available to me. Basically what I do is input numbers into several spreadsheets. Many spreadsheets, actually. How many different ways can you look at the same damn information? And someone else is filling out other spreadsheets with the same info as well. Checks and balances? Boring, boring, boring! I'm not learning anything and I'm not having a good time, so what's the point?!

ING NYC Marathon

The Great Amazing Race Posted by Hello

Today the New York Marathon course went by my apartment. By the time they got to that point, the runners were on mile 16. These people were absolutely amazing! Just about everyone went by waving and smiling. Some took pictures of the crowd, a few were talking on their cell phones (how you're able to talk after running 16 miles, I don't know), one guy dropped to the ground, did 5 push-ups and then got back up and continued running. But before the masses came, I saw the front pack run by, and these guys were bookin!!! Their pace was how I would pace myself for a 400 yard dash, it was unbelievable how fast they were going! I still think it's a little crazy to run 26 miles (especially when no one is chasing you), but it is absolutely amazing that these people can accomplish this.

Super Bears, Superbowl!

Bears 28-Giants 21
Look closely and you can see the NYC skyline in the background Posted by Hello

Well, not exactly, but I got to see the Bears whoop up on the Giants today. When I found out that you had to take a bus to Jersey to get to the Giants stadium, I was a little skeptical. But the ride was about 20 mins long and painless, despite the flack I received from the 'others' about the McQuarters jersey I was wearing. But I'm glad I made the trek cause I don't know when I'll get a chance to witness another victory. There were a ton of other Chicago fans there. One guy got ejected from the game for something he did. At one point, everyone in his section was calling, Asshole, Asshole, to this guy and by the end of the quarter I saw about 5 or 6 yellow jacketed security officers dragging him up and out of the stands. So the Urlacher jersey got ejected! Now how is he gonna rep the Chi like that?!

Vote!

So I left the apartment super early this morning to go vote. I don't know what I expected while I made my way to the High School of Art and Design...I guess long lines, fire and brimstone, maybe some gnashing of teeth. But the whole process took all of 5 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised. So now I am just waiting to see what the Bush camp will pull out of their asses this year and I am thoroughly looking forward to what Jon Stewart and the Daily Show news team will come up with tonight during their coverage.
